The American company Moderna, a producer of the vaccine against COVID-19, has chosen Warsaw UNIT for its new headquarters. In the new location, it will open a business services center that will support Moderna group companies located all over the world.
Warsaw UNIT is one of the tallest and most technologically advanced buildings in Poland. Ghelamco's latest investment is located in a new business center in Warsaw's Wola district. Moderna will take up 4,500 sq m. office space. The company also considered locations in Ireland, Hungary and the countries of the Middle East, but ultimately the choice fell on the capital of Poland. The business prospects, stability and location of the country turned out to be decisive.
- Innovative companies need innovative and safe spaces, and our buildings offer just such. Warsaw UNIT attracts international corporations that appreciate its quality and location in the heart of the Warsaw business district - says Jarosław Zagórski, sales and development director at Ghelamco Poland.
As "Puls Biznesu" writes, with a considerable pump, assisted by Waldemar Buda, the minister of development and technology, and Marek Brzeziński, the US ambassador, on Wednesday in Warsaw the business services center of the Moderna biotechnology group was officially launched. The producer of one of the covid vaccines, valued at Nasdaq at $ 60 billion, in practice began providing services in Poland last year.
- The plan to launch a service center for the group in Warsaw was announced in May 2021. I was recruited in September and started building the team. We now have 150 people on board and we are looking for dozens of more. The plan for this year assumed that we would end it with the number 230 and we are going there. We have rented an office with a capacity of over 300 people, and this is what we will probably have next year
- says Łukasz Wielochowski, head of Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub in Warsaw, quoted by "PB".
Warsaw UNIT is a modern and timeless architectural office building. The building offers approx. 57,000 sq m of efficient office space on 45 floors.
The architecture of Warsaw UNIT is the responsibility of Projekt Polsko-Belgijska Pracownia Architektury, which is also a co-author of the Warsaw Spire skyscraper. One of the most interesting elements of the Warsaw UNIT architecture is the use of a Dragon Skin facade, i.e. a kinetic facade, consisting of several thousand movable tiles. This solution will be used in Poland for the first time. On the ground floor of the building there will be space for service and food outlets, accessible to everyone from the street level. The facility is equipped with a car park for over 400 cars, which will take 3 underground levels and 8 in the above-ground part, located in the podium of the skyscraper.
Warsaw UNIT is certified in the BREEAM system at the Excellent level and is equipped with infrastructure for cyclists: bicycle parking, changing rooms and showers.
Warsaw UNIT was established in the most dynamically developing part of Warsaw, in the new business center of the city in Wola. The skyscraper is located at the Daszyńskiego roundabout, at the corner of Prosta and Pańska streets. The most important communication arteries and transfer junctions in the city intersect in its immediate vicinity. Next to it, there are entrances to the Rondo Daszyńskiego metro station, line II, as well as tram and bus stops.
