Poland, with a population of over 38 million inhabitants, is the largest member of the European Union among the Central and Eastern European countries. In terms of GDP, Poland is the 7th biggest economy in the EU and the 20th biggest economy in the world (2010 GDP in current prices, USD-denominated, IMF data). According to GUS, the estimate gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 3.5% in the Q1 2012.
